Chimp Haven
On Saturday, we went to Discovery Day at Chimp Haven which is in Keithville. Chimp Haven serves as The National Chimpanzee Sanctuary for chimpanzees who have been retired from medical research, the entertainment industry or no longer wanted as pets. One of Emma's favorite books is No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed so she was excited about going to see the monkeys. As we were getting out of the car we quickly learned from a park ranger that chimps are not monkeys. However, Emma continued to tell the chimps, "No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed!" We look forward to going back again next month.
